Almost Nobody in This Industry Publishes Their Pricing. Here's Ours.

Call five IT companies and ask what they charge. You'll get five versions of "it depends" and an invitation to a discovery meeting.

It does depend. But you should be able to find out whether we're in your range before you give up an hour of your afternoon.

What IT Actually Costs

These are real market ranges, including ours. They're wide on purpose, and the rest of this page explains why.

1 HOURLY RATES $135 to $250 per hour. Rates vary by the type of work, after-hours, and emergency response — a help desk call and a server migration aren't the same skill. Nonprofits get discounted hourly as well. If you're not on a plan at all, you're paying the higher end, which is usually the argument for being on one.
2 FLAT-RATE PLANS Comprehensive Cyber starts at $95 per user or endpoint. Monitoring, security, and backup running around the clock — but support and remediation are billed hourly. Our full flat-rate plan starts at $165 per user and includes remote support, which is the real baseline for most businesses. From there it climbs toward $400 depending on what's bundled in. The factors below are what move it.
3 CO-MANAGED IT Priced between the two. You have an internal person or a small IT team; we cover monitoring, security, escalations, projects, and the after-hours coverage one person can't provide alone. Scoped to what you want us handling.
4 PROJECT WORK Quoted as a fixed price, in writing, before anything starts. Network builds, server replacements, office moves, cabling, cameras. Make and model named in the quote so you can price it elsewhere if you want to.

That's a wide spread, and it sounds absurd until you see what's inside it. That's the next section.

What Moves You Up or Down the Range

Two companies with the same headcount can pay very different numbers, and both can be fair prices. Here's what actually drives it.

1 HOW MANY USERS AND DEVICES Per-user pricing drops as you add people — the work of managing 60 users isn't three times the work of managing 20. A very small company pays more per head than a larger one. That's not a penalty, it's just how the math works.
2 REMOTE ONLY, OR ONSITE TOO Remote-only support is cheaper and it handles most issues. But some things need hands on the equipment, and if your plan doesn't include onsite, every visit becomes an hourly charge on top. Our flat-rate plans include onsite within the hour — that's part of the number, not extra.
3 COMPLIANCE REQUIREMENTS HIPAA, FINRA, FTC Safeguards, PCI. These add real cost because they add real work — documented risk assessments, evidence retention, training records, vendor reviews, tighter access controls, and being ready to hand an examiner a file rather than an explanation. A medical practice and a landscaping company are genuinely different jobs.
4 HARDWARE AS A SERVICE You can buy hardware outright, or bundle it into the monthly rate. Network gear — firewall, switches, and Wi-Fi — is the common package, refreshed on a schedule instead of after it dies. It raises the monthly number and eliminates the capital purchase and the surprise replacement.
5 COMPUTERS INCLUDED OR NOT The same idea applied to workstations. Machines bundled into the monthly rate on a planned refresh cycle, so nobody is running a six-year-old computer because replacing it never made the budget. This moves the per-user number the most of anything on this list.
6 WHAT SHAPE YOU'RE IN NOW A documented, current environment costs less to manage than one that's been patched together for a decade. If there's cleanup work in the first ninety days, that's usually quoted separately rather than baked into your monthly rate forever.
7 COVERAGE HOURS Business hours, extended hours, or coverage for an operation that starts before dawn. Monitoring runs 24/7/365 on every plan; live human support outside normal hours is a scoping conversation.

What's In Every Plan, Regardless of Price

Some things aren't tiers. They're either there or they aren't, and with us they're there.

  • A live person in 5 minutes — Not a ticket form, not a queue, not an overseas call center. Working your issue within 15 minutes on average.
  • Unlimited support on flat-rate plans — No per-ticket charge and no charge for picking up the phone. Nobody should hesitate to call because they're worried about an invoice.
  • Cybersecurity — 24/7 monitoring, endpoint detection and response, SOC coverage, ransomware and dark web protection, email security, MFA. There is no "security tier" you can accidentally decline.
  • Backup and recovery — Local and offsite, immutable, and actually tested.
  • Vendor management — Your software companies, your ISP, your phone provider. We make the calls.
  • Documentation — Your environment written down, and available to you if you ask for it.
  • Flexible contracts — Month-to-month, or a 12, 24, or 36-month term. Every term starts with a 90-day risk-free period, and there's no contract buyout.

What Costs Extra, and We'll Tell You Before

  • Project work — Network builds, migrations, office moves, cabling, cameras. Fixed price in writing before we start.
  • Hardware purchases — Unless you're on a Hardware as a Service plan, in which case it's in the monthly number.
  • Third-party software licensing — Microsoft 365, line-of-business applications, and similar. We'll tell you what's ours and what's theirs.
  • Penetration testing and formal compliance programs — Specialized work, quoted separately.
  • Custom AI agents and workflows — Real build work, always quoted and approved before anything gets built.

Nonprofits receive discounted rates on every plan, plus free help claiming donated software licensing.

Why the Cheapest Quote Usually Isn't

When one quote is dramatically lower than the others, something was left out. It's worth finding out what.

1 SECURITY AS AN ADD-ON A low base price with monitoring, endpoint protection, and SOC coverage sold separately. You'll find out at renewal, or after an incident, that you declined something you didn't know you were declining.
2 NO SUPPORT INCLUDED AT ALL This is more common than people realize. Plenty of providers sell a monitoring and security package with no support in it — every call, remote or onsite, gets billed hourly on top of your monthly fee. You're paying a subscription to be watched, then paying again to be helped. Ask directly: what support is included in this number, and what gets billed?
3 "UNLIMITED" WITH LIMITS BURIED IN IT Two versions to watch for. Monthly hour allowances where overages bill against you — your staff notice and stop calling, which is the expensive outcome. And narrow scope: some plans only cover Microsoft 365 and workstations, so anything touching your network hardware, firewall, or VoIP phones gets billed separately. We include those. Our only limit is a 4-hour cap per ticket before it becomes billable, which almost nothing hits.
4 ONE TECHNICIAN Cheaper because there's less overhead, and genuinely fine until vacation, illness, or two emergencies in the same week. Ask how many people could actually respond to you.
5 A CONTRACT YOU CAN'T LEAVE A low rate attached to a long term with a buyout clause isn't a discount. It's a price you agreed to before you knew what the service was like.

Frequently Asked Questions

Why is the range so wide?

Because it covers very different things. At $95 you have Comprehensive Cyber: monitoring, security, and backup, with support billed hourly. At $165 you have Assist, with unlimited remote support included, which is where most businesses start. Assist Plus adds onsite support from $215, and pricing climbs toward $400 for compliance-heavy businesses with network hardware and workstations bundled in. Both ends are fair prices for what they include. A single number would not be honest.

Can you give me a number over the phone?

Yes. Tell us your headcount, your industry, and whether you want hardware included, and we'll give you a real range on a 15-minute call. We're not going to make you sit through a presentation to find out whether you can afford us.

What's the cheapest you offer?

Comprehensive Cyber at $95 per user or endpoint. Monitoring, security, and backup running 24/7 — the things you genuinely can't skip. Support and remediation are billed hourly on top, and our flat-rate clients get the lowest hourly rate. It's a real plan, not a bait tier, and it's the right answer for some businesses. If your budget is below that, we'll tell you honestly.

Is hourly cheaper than flat-rate?

For some businesses, yes. If you're small, stable, and rarely need help, paying hourly can genuinely cost less. Our Comprehensive Cyber plan is built for exactly that situation — monitoring, security, and backup still run around the clock, so problems still get caught. What's billable is the remediation and any support, remote or onsite. It's a real plan, not a stripped one. We'll tell you honestly which model fits your business, including when the answer is hourly.

How does compliance change the price?

It adds documented work: risk assessments, evidence retention, training records, vendor reviews, tighter access control, and being able to produce all of it on request. HIPAA, FINRA, FTC Safeguards, and PCI each carry their own requirements. The technology overlaps; the documentation and the accountability are what cost more.

What is Hardware as a Service?

Instead of buying equipment outright, it's bundled into your monthly rate. Network gear — firewall, switches, Wi-Fi — is the most common package, and workstations can be included too. No capital outlay, no aging equipment nobody budgeted to replace, and refreshes on a planned schedule. It raises the monthly number and removes the surprise ones.

Do you charge a setup or onboarding fee?

Yes, and we'll tell you the number before you sign anything. A typical onboarding takes us 10 to 20 hours — documenting your environment, deploying monitoring and security, testing backups, and getting your team set up properly. We charge a flat fee for it rather than billing hourly or hiding it in your monthly rate forever. If there's significant cleanup work beyond a normal onboarding, that gets quoted separately too.

What are the contract terms?

Every agreement starts with a 90-day risk-free period. If we're not the right fit in those first 90 days, you leave, with no buyout and no penalty. After that, your term runs 12, 24, or 36 months, so the full agreement is 15, 27, or 39 months. Longer terms lock your pricing for the full term and carry our best rates. Month-to-month is also available at a higher rate, with pricing subject to change once per year. The longer terms aren't a trap. They're how we can hold a price for up to three years.

What if we already have an IT company and just want to compare?

Download the buyer's guide and use it on both of us. It'll show you where our approach differs, which matters more than the number — even at the same price, how IT gets delivered varies enormously.

We'll be straight with you: we probably won't be the cheapest. What we'd point to is our reviews, because 4.9 stars from 100+ Coachella Valley businesses says more about the experience than anything we could write here.

And if you're genuinely just price shopping, we're happy to give you real numbers on a quick call — that's what this page is for. But a full assessment and proposal takes real time on both sides, and it's not worth doing unless you're actually considering a change. We'd rather have the honest short conversation.

What areas do you serve?

Palm Desert, Palm Springs, Cathedral City, Rancho Mirage, La Quinta, Indio, Coachella, Thousand Palms, Desert Hot Springs, Blythe, and the surrounding Coachella Valley. Our office is at 73280 Hwy 111 Ste 102, Palm Desert.

How do we get a real quote?

Book a 15-minute call at lazeritconsultants.com/discoverycall, or call 760-992-5562 and ask for Noah. Bring your headcount, your industry, and a recent invoice from your current provider if you have one.

Fifteen Minutes and You'll Know

Tell us how many people you have, what industry you're in, and whether you want hardware included. We'll give you a real range on the call — not a brochure, not a follow-up meeting to discuss scheduling another meeting.

If we're more expensive than what you're paying now, we'll tell you what the difference buys. And if we're not the right fit for your budget, we'll say that too and point you somewhere sensible.
